The Multilingual Education and Student Supports Department assists the schools to better support students through the Title I, LAP, Multilingual Learner, and Dual Language programs.

Multilingual Education and Student Supports Department provides additional staff, professional learning and development, curriculum, and materials to ensure that qualifying students are given the necessary support to reach academic standards. Our interventions include services provided through both the Title I and Learning Assistance Program (LAP) grants. The Title I Program assists students who are performing below grade level academically in elementary schools with a high percentage of poverty. The Learning Assistance Program (LAP) provides resources for students who are performing below grade level in reading and math in kindergarten through seventh grades, and students in eighth through twelfth grades who may be at risk of not graduating from high school. Multilingual Learner (ML) services support those students who are new speakers of English and are working on attaining proficiency in the English language. Dual Language (DL) programs support students who are working towards attaining bilingualism and biliteracy in two languages, one of which is English.
