Something Rotten is a story set in the 1590s, where brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as "The Bard." When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz.

Something Rotten features large song and dance numbers, and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each with their own moment to shine. Don’t miss your chance to see this history-twisting tale.

Mariner High School presents Once Upon a Mattress. Come see the comedic telling of the classic fairytale The Princess and the Pea. Once upon a time, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Many princesses tried to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up.

    • Performances held in the Mariner Little Theatre May 8, at 2:15 p.m. and May 9 and 10, at 7 p.m.
    • Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for Gold Team members and students with ASB card
