STUDENT FREQUENT QUESTIONS

  • Your homepage is the first place you'll land every time you log in to Schoology. Your homepage may show you Recent Activity or, your may see a Course Dashboard.

  • This is important. In order to complete Google Drive and OneDrive assignments, you must connnect your cloud apps to your resources. 

    Resource Apps integrate third-party content, such as Google Drive and OneDrive, directly into the Resource Center. This means that all of your personal, shared, public, and external instructional resources are consolidated in one place.

    Install the app to your Resources

    1. If you're accessing the Resource Apps area for the first time, you may see a button to Install apps.
    2. Select the option to install the Resource(s) of your choice.

    Connect to your third party account

    1. Once you've installed the Resource App to your Resources, click the app.
    2. Approve access and connect your account.
    3. Enter the Username and password you use to login to the third-party account.
    4. Click Accept to successfully connect.
    5. All of your content will automatically populate your Resource App.

  • In order to complete your assignments, you need to be logged into your District Google or OneDrive Resource apps.

    To do this click on the Resources tab. Click on Apps. Click on the Google Drive Resource App. Click Connect or Authorize.

    Sign in using the student’s email address (StuID@mukilteo.wednet.edu) and password.

    This will also work to connect OneDrive.

    In order for students to complete assignments, they must be logged into their accounts.

  • Students may need access to Google Chrome extensions to complete work in Schoology. Turning on Sync in the Chrome browser will load district extensions. Use this tutorial video to sync now.

  • In order for your checked out Mukilteo School District student device to connect to your home WiFi you need to first log on while connected to your school's WiFi network. This will load your profile on the device. If your password has expired or you will need to contact your teacher to reset your password, or use this online form to reset your password.

  • It is important to take care of your device and we can push out automatic updates. Please follow these steps to keep your checked out student device up-to-date.

    1. Restart Daily. This will install any updates that have downloaded while you were working the day before.
    2. Choose one or two nights a week to leave your device plugged in, powered on, and connected to your home network (WiFi). This will download important updates between 10pm and 2am and install. 
  • To change the default view from Recent Activity to Course Dashboard, follow these steps:

    1. Login to Schoology.
    2. Click on the drop-down arrrow next to your name in the upper right and click Settings.
    3. On the Settings page, scroll down to the Other Options section at the bottom of the page.
    4. Click the Set Home Page To option to Course Dashboard and click save.

  • When you first start a new grading period, your courses might not display in your Course Dashboard. To have your course cards display complete the steps below:

    Click the Courses Tab at the top of the page. A window will slide down.

    Click the My Courses link in the upper right of that window.

    Click the Reorder Courses button (on the right).

    Move courses in the order you wish. Close the window.

    Click the Courses tab to now see your courses.

  • Most of your courses will be added from our student information system, Qmlativ. If you wish to add a course manually, you will need the course access code from your teacher and follow these steps:

    If you already have a Schoology account, you can join additional courses by using the 13-digit access code for the course.

    More about Courses: 

    1. Log in to Schoology.
    2. Select Courses in the top menu.
    3. Click Join a Course or My Courses.
    4. From the My Courses page, click Join Course on the right side of the page.
    5. Enter your access code (XXXX-XXXX-XXXXX). 
    6. Click Join.
    1. On your computer, click the Start menu windows key .
    2. Click Settings settings .
    3. Open your default apps:
      • Original version: Click System > Default apps.
      • Creators Update: Click Apps > Default apps.
    4. At the bottom, under "Web browser," click your current browser (typically Microsoft Edge).
    5. In the "Choose an app" window, click Google Chrome.

     

    To easily open Chrome later, add a shortcut to your taskbar:

    1. On your computer, open Chrome.
    2. In the Windows taskbar at the bottom, right-click on Chrome.
    3. Click Pin to taskbar.

  • Want to access Office 365 at home? Here is how! Go to the Mukilteo School District home page. Under the Students & Families menu click Student Site. Under Student Links click the Office 365 tile and then you will be taken to a login screen.

    Use your Student ID with the full @mukilteo.wednet.edu and your password that you use to login to computers at school. At the Office 365 home page you can use the OneDrive app to access files saved from school/home, you can use the Word Online, Excel Online, PowerPoint Online or OneNote Online apps to create files while working in your web browser.

    Want to download the apps at home? Once logged in to Office 365, click the Install Office button. If you don’t see the install button, click the apps square in the upper left and then click Office 365.

    As long as you are enrolled as a Mukilteo School District student, you will be able to use this software on your computer.  If you leave the district, your license to use the software will expire in 30 days.

  • Open Zoom from the Start Menu. Click on the (1) up arrow in your task bar. Then (2) right click on the Zoom icon to reveal an options menu.

    Click (3) Check for updates. If an update is available you will be asked to update.

  • Clearing browsing history can correct some problems. Here is how to clear your browsing history in Google Chrome.

    1. Click on the settings button in the upper right.
    2. Mouseover More Tools and click Clear browsing data.
    3. Select your options and click Clear data.
