As the school year ends, schools will collect computer devices from all eighth graders moving up to high school, graduating seniors and any students leaving the district. Other middle and high school students may keep their devices over the summer.

Taking care of your district laptop during summer
  • Keep it clean: Avoid eating or drinking near your laptop to prevent spills
  • Store it safely: Keep your laptop in a safe, dry place when not in use. Consider using a protective case or sleeve
  • Charge and restart: Use you MSD charger and unplug once fully charged to avoid overcharging. Restart your computer regularly, especially before returning to school to get security updates.
  • Handle with care: Avoid dropping or bumping you laptop and placing heavy objects on top. Close lid gently.
  • Use responsibly: Follow the district guidelines for appropriate use. Avoid downloading unauthorized software and visiting unsafe websites.
