NEW WEBSITE AND BOARD PORTAL

Screenshot of new board portalThe new website is nearly complete and should publish early this week! We are still working on final touches and updating staff directories, calendars, etc. and that work will continue throughout the summer even after it is published. Thanks for your patience while we complete those elements. We hope you find it easier to navigate and more consistent from school to school. Thanks to the students, families and staff who provided input to make this a more useful website!

Along with the public website transition, we moved all school board-related items into a new board portal, accessible from the new website once published. You can now find the board meeting information, policies, procedures, meeting recordings, public comment requests and more all in one place!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY AND FIREWORKS REMINDER

Happy Independence Day! The July 4 holiday commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by delegates from the 13 colonies. It is the day we officially celebrate the birth of the United States of America! We wish our families, students, staff and community a safe, fun day of celebration.

Please remember that fireworks are not allowed on school grounds even during the summer. If you see someone lighting fireworks on school grounds, please notify local law enforcement. Thank you for helping us keep our campuses safe and clean for people to use and enjoy in other ways.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL FAIR AUG. 23

Photos of students and staff at previous events with text Back to School FairThe annual back-to-school event is for all grades and all schools in our district and will be held Friday, Aug. 23, from 4-6:30 p.m., at Mariner High School. Families will have the opportunity to visit school tables, learn about district programs, meet community partners in healthcare, education, social support services, receive school supplies (supplies limited to MSD students attending the fair) and more!

With an event this large, we could use some help with a variety of tasks including stuffing school supplies into backpacks before the event, distributing them during the event, directing traffic, checking in other volunteers and more. If you can spare an hour or more, please sign up to help on this online form. Volunteers help make this a hugely successful event for all families!
